SWITCH & WIN CANADA SWEEPSTAKES ("Sweepstakes") is open only to legal residents of Canada, who (a) have reached the age of majority in their respective province or territory of residence, and (b) have online access as of 12:00:01 AM (ET) on July 1, 2008. Officers, directors, employees and agents of General Electric Company, General Electric Canada ("Sponsor"), and GEM Group, Inc. ("Administrator") (collectively the "Released Parties"), as well as their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, sponsors, marketing and promotion partners, retailers, vendors and advertising and promotional agencies, and any members of the immediate families (defined as spouse, parent, sibling or child, regardless of where they live) and persons living in the same household (whether related or not), of any of the foregoing are ineligible. Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 AM (ET) on July 1, 2008 and ends at 11:59:59 PM (ET) on August 31, 2008 ("Promotion Period").
HOW TO ENTER: You may enter the Sweepstakes by visiting www.geswitchandwincanada.com (the "Sweepstakes Website") during the Promotion Period.  Entrants must complete the registration page in its entirety before entering the Sweepstakes. Entrants must click on the "submit" button located on the entry page to complete the entry process ("Entry"). Limit one (1) Entry per person and per e-mail address per day. A day is defined as starting at 12:00:01 AM (ET) and ending at 11:59:59 PM (ET). In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an online Entry, the Entry will be deemed to be submitted by the natural person in whose name the e-mail address is registered or assigned.  Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. 
PRIZES: ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE: A 4-day/3-night trip for two (2) to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games (travel dates to be determined by Sponsor).  Trip includes round-trip coach air transportation for winner and one (1) guest from a major international airport in Canada near winner's residence (as determined by Sponsor) to Vancouver, BC, Canada, three (3) nights standard hotel accommodations (double occupancy), tickets to two (2) Sponsor-selected Olympic Games events, two (2) meals per day (Sponsor's Choice), two (2) tickets the hotel hospitality suite and airport/hotel/event transfers. Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): $12,500.  Actual value of the Grand Prize may vary depending upon the point of departure and dates of travel.  Winner is not entitled to the difference, if any, between the actual and stated approximate value. FIVE (5) FIRST PRIZES: Each consisting of a $500 VISA® Gift Card. ARV: $500 each. VISA® Gift Card prizing will be awarded in Canadian currency. Redemption of VISA® Gift Cards are subject to terms and conditions of VISA®, and may be redeemed anywhere VISA® is accepted.  FIFTY (50) SECOND PRIZES: Each consisting of a GE Olympic Baseball Hat. ARV: $11.89 each.
GENERAL PRIZE CONDITIONS: Prizes are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged or substituted, except at Sponsor's sole discretion who reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) of comparable or greater monetary value, or to amend the Grand Prize winner's itinerary, if any factor prevents the prize from being awarded as described herein. Limit one (1) prize will be awarded per person and per household.
GRAND PRIZE CONDITIONS/RESTRICTIONS: Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games event tickets may be subject to certain terms and conditions as specified by issuer.  Event and seat locations will be determined by Sponsor. Grand Prize package does not include travel insurance, medical insurance, telephone charges, personal expenses, additional meals, gratuities, incidental charges, additional ground transportation or any other cost or expense not specifically described in these Official Rules.  All such additional costs and expenses are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize winner and his/her guest.  Trip must be taken on dates specified by Sponsor or prize will be forfeited and, at Sponsor's sole discretion, an alternate winner selected. Winner must confirm available travel dates and flight times selected by the Sponsor within one (1) week of winner notification or prize will be forfeited and, at Sponsor's sole discretion, an alternate winner may be selected. No extension or change of trip dates permitted by winner once Sponsor has confirmed trip dates.  Sponsor is not responsible for flight delays or cancellations, or event cancellation or postponement.  If the Grand Prize winner's travel companion is a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, and the Grand Prize winner is not his or her parent or legal guardian, such travel companion's parent or legal guardian must accompany him/her at all times during the trip at his/her own expense. Travel arrangements must be made through Sponsor's agent on a carrier of Sponsor's choice. Grand Prize Winner and their respective travel companion must travel together on the same itinerary and are responsible for obtaining valid travel documents as required by airline prior to departure.  Grand Prize winner's travel companion must sign and return a Release of Liability/Publicity Release prior to ticketing.  The identity of the winner's travel companion cannot change once this release is received by Sponsor.  If travel companion is a minor, such release must be signed and returned by the parent or legal guardian.  Airline carrier's regulations and conditions and any other travel restrictions may apply.
WINNER SELECTION: A random draw will be conducted on our about September 15, 2008 at approximately 1:00 PM (ET) at the Administrator's offices (33 West 19th Street, 4th Floor, New York City, New York, U.S.A)  from all eligible Entries received during the Promotion Period to select the eligible entrants ("Potential Prize Winners").  In order to be declared a winner, the Potential Prize Winner must have correctly answered without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, the mathematical skill-testing question on the online entry form.  First and Second Prize winners will be contacted by email, phone and/or mail; please allow 4-6 weeks following the draw for delivery of First and Second Prizes.  Prizes will only be delivered to verified winners. The Administrator's decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Odds of winning a prize are dependent upon total number of eligible Entries received.
GRAND PRIZE WINNER NOTIFICATION: Potential Prize Winner will be notified by telephone on or about September 22, 2008.  Before being declared the Grand Prize winner, the Potential Prize Winner will be required to sign and return a Declaration of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release ("Release"), to be received by Sponsor by the deadline specified in the documents.  Inability of Sponsor or Administrator to reach the Potential Prize Winner by telephone within five (5) business days of the first attempted contact, failure to return the Release within the time specified, or non-compliance with these Rules may result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate Potential Winner, in the sole discretion of the Administrator. 
GENERAL CONDITIONS: Subject to obtaining approval from the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux with respect to the province of Quebec, Sponsor reserves the right to terminate or modify this Sweepstakes at any time without notice if any factor interferes with its conduct as contemplated by these Rules. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Sweepstakes subject to the approval of the Régie in Quebec in the event that it becomes infected by a computer virus, worm, or trojan horse, is subject to a denial of service attack, or is otherwise technically impaired.  By entering, entrants agree: (1) to release and hold harmless Released Parties from liability, loss, injury or damage arising out of their participation in the Sweepstakes and with respect to their acceptance and use/misuse of any prize; (2) to be bound by the Rules; (3) that the decisions of the Administrator are final and binding on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes; (4) to be contacted by the Sponsor and/or Administrator via telephone, or courier regarding the Sweepstakes if selected as a Potential Winner; and (5) to the use by Sponsor and its designees of their names, addresses (city/province/territory) and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes in any and all media worldwide in perpetuity without additional compensation, notification or permission. All applicable federal, provincial/territorial and local laws and regulations apply. Released Parties are not responsible for computer, technical, mechanical, production, human, or other resulting in printing or typographical errors. Released Parties are not responsible for malfunctions of electronic equipment, computer hardware, software, malfunctions of the entrant's email provider, incorrect email addresses, lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected Entries. Released Parties are not responsible for problems downloading Entries from the Sweepstakes Website or for any other technical problems related to website Entries.
PERSONAL INFORMATION: By entering, entrants consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information by the Sponsor, the Administrator and/or their authorized agents for the purposes of administering this Sweepstakes, fulfilling prizes, and posting the names and addresses (city/province) of winners on the Sweepstakes Website.   All personal information collected as a part of this Sweepstakes will be managed in accordance with the Sponsor's Privacy Policy, which can be access at http://www.ge.com/privacy.html.
QUEBEC RESIDENTS: For residents of the Province the Quebec, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Regie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

RESIDENTS OF PROVINCES OTHER THAN QUEBEC:  For residents of provinces other than Quebec, the Sweepstakes and any claims relating thereto are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, excluding its choice and conflicts of law provisions.  By entering, entrants agree (i) that any action arising out of this Sweepstakes must be brought in the provincial or federal courts located in Toronto, Ontario; (ii) irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of any such court; and (iii) waives any objection, and agrees to make no objection, to the venue of any such action or proceeding in any such court or that such action or proceeding was brought in an inconvenient court.  By entering, ENTRANT WAIVES ANY RIGHT TO HAVE A JURY PARTICIPATE IN RESOLVING ANY DISPUTE, whether sounding in contract, tort, or otherwise, arising out of, in connection with, related to, or incidental to, this Sweepstakes.
